Been So Long...

Maybe this wasn't the best time for me to start a blog. I'm dead tired pregnant, getting ready for a move half way around the world and am studying for finals this week. I promise once things die down I'll be a regular blogger, but for now I have way too much on my plate.

My little sister came for a fun filled week. We went to Edelweiss, Neuchwanstein, Dachau, Munich, Trier...all in one week! I will fill you in on all the details later...it was a blast!

Last Friday we found out we're having a... BOY!! Yeah!!! I am so excited! I know I thought I was going to be able to wait and find out the sex at its birth, but I couldn't... Anyway, we are naming him Nicholas, and if you don't like the name I'm not concerned ... (okay mother in law dear??) Thanks : )

NO, THE NAMES BELOW DON'T GO TOGETHER... THEY WERE IN COLUMNS WHEN I TYPED IT, BUT THEN GOT MERGED TOGETHER WHEN I POSTED... OBVIOUSLY SOME ARE BOYS AND SOME ARE GIRL NAMES.

Kids are Sooo Funny

Kitty and A.J. are 3 and 4 now, and everyday they do things or say things to just crack me up. The other night I was giving Kitty a bath and srubbing behind her ears, I said "we have to scrub really well, because I noticed some crust," (she has really dry skin behind her ears) then she asked me, "is it bread crust?" I died laughing. Then the other day at dinner she passed me the "summer salt." Today when I picked A.J. up from pre-school he was dressed in a surgeon costume. He told me he was ready to take the baby out and spank it on the butt!! Today before school A.J. drew a picture of the baby with a rattle. I thought it was so cute!!! I will post a picture of it this weekend. I haven't uploaded new pics in awhile. I am so happy at how excited both kids are about the baby. Everyday they ask me if he's done growing and ready to come out and play!!

In other news, I graduated to maternity clothes this week, and I'm getting ready for my baby sister's visit!! Well, I guess she's not a baby anymore, she's a woman in college. I can't believe it. Seems like just yesterday my aunt took my brother and I to the hospital to see her. She was sooo tiny. I'm just so proud of the woman she has become. I really wish we spoke more often. We get along well, but we are just in such different places in our lives. She's a young college girl, and I'm a wife and mom. I am looking forward to her visit as a chance to catch up on things.

Ketchup Time

Hi Guys, Sorry I've been out of the blog world for a few days. I have just been really busy with mid-terms and getting the house ready to pack! How did we accumulate so much junk in four years? I wish I could say that we have a house full of treasures, but no...a lot of it is just...junk. I am looking forward to the opportunity to start a new and keep a really organized house. Kate, from John and Kate plus 8 is my role model for organization. I'll let you know how that goes.

So, I used to be into that whole country cutsey look, but I'm over it now. I want to do the new house in citrus colors and a more modern look. I am totally loving the orla kiely line at Target. I especially love the pear pattern for the kitchen. I also found the most adorable baby room idea, which I'll share with you later. Honestly, right now my brain is pretty fried from mid-terms. I have a date with the Sarge in a minute to watch Friday the 13th, so I will write more later. I hope you all are doing well!

Help Me Mommy!!

So, let's get back to this past weekend, shall we? Saturday I was pretty much in a funk because the house was so cluttered and messy... and really, nothing drives me more crazy than a messy house. I decided I wasn't going to get groomed for the day as though my bad hygeine was going to show the Sarge just how upset I was?? I don't expect you to understand me, I barely understand myself. Well, finally at four o'clock, I ended my shower strike and got myself together. Kitty and I went to Toom Markt, or the "girl's store" as she called it. Earlier that day the Sarge and A.J. went to a hardware store, "the boy's store." One of the things I love about living in Europe is grocery shopping off base. I could spend hours just browsing the different items. Nutella, cheeses, yogurts...and don't even get me started on the bakery. Kitty and I ended up getting colored hard boiled eggs, cheese, bread, gourmet ice creams and a bunch of other stuff. The Germans make the most amazing flavors of ice cream. We got apple struedel and vanilla, and marzipan with chocolate swirls... Yummy. Sunday we got up early to hit up the champagne brunch at the club. Just a little prefix to this story, right before I got pregnant I lost a lot of weight. So, all of my pants are about 4 sizes too big. I had one pair that fit me... and really they only fit right when they came out of the dryer. The Sarge has been telling me forever to buy myself some new clothes, but I never do. I have way more fun getting clothes and stuff for the kids, so I keep putting it off. Well, Sunday morning, right before the brunch, I go to get my pair of jeans and realize there is a huge hole in the crotch!!! The only pair of pants left, are some that are so big, I can pull the waist all the way up to my armpits... they are huge! But, I had no choice. I really wanted to eat that damned buffet, and nothing was going to stop me. The entire time I was so self concious about how I looked, when we got home, I finally broke down and bought myself some new clothes. Ofcourse, I got some for the kiddos too !!! Yesterday was, of course, Dr. Seuss' birthday. I joined the kids for their preschool breakfast of green eggs and ham. The breakfast turned out to be, green eggs, cantaloupe and cinnamon toast. A.J. pretty much eats nothing but bread, waffles, and grapes, so he ended up eating about 5 pieces of bread. Kitty ate everything in sight, then asked her teacher where the ham was. Kitty told me they probably left it in the grocery cart, which I thought was pretty cute. Yesterday was Kitty's preschool day, and A.J. and I went to get his haircut, which he loves (for the gummy bears they give him), then we had a slice of pizza. Today was A.J.'s day at school and Kitty and I went to story time at the library, and met my friend for Thai food. Kitty ate really well, and really behaved. But, let me tell ya, EVERYTIME we go out in public, Kitty has to poop. EVERYTIME. I hate public restrooms, they make my cringe. But, this time, was like anyother time, Kitty had to poop, and wouldn't let me in the stall....so, I'm standing by the sink waiting and I hear "MOMMY, HELP ME!" I look in the stall, and she is COMPLETLEY in the toilet!! I started to dry heave and almost puked. Keep in mind, I am such a germaphobe that my hands look like alligator skin. AAAAGGGHHHH....So, I immediatley took her home and gave her a hot bath....EEEEWWW. That sums up my week so far. I hope you all are doing well!

Lazy Sunday

Well, guys... I am way too tired to post a big blog entry tonight. This weekend was sweet and calm, punctuated by episodes of me uncontrollably crying in a pillow in my bedroom, which I seem to be doing a lot of for no apparent reason. I am really feeling the prego craziness in all its glory. Like, is it normal that I bawled through the entire Benjamin Button movie? When the lights came on in the movie theater I wanted to put my popcorn bag on my head to hide my mascara stained face. Maybe I should invest in waterproof for the next 6 months??
